06 · FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do international students apply to Chinese universities?

Choose a programme, prepare identity and academic documents, submit through the university's official portal or an authorised channel, then apply for a student visa after admission. A balanced shortlist avoids last-minute failure.

Do I need to speak Chinese to study in China?

No. Many universities offer English-taught bachelor's and master's programmes requiring IELTS/TOEFL, while Chinese-taught routes usually need HSK. Confirm the exact requirement per programme on the official page.

How much does studying in China cost?

Tuition and living costs vary by city and programme. Tier-2 cities such as Hangzhou, Nanjing and Chengdu are usually cheaper than Beijing or Shanghai. Always verify current tuition on the university's official admissions page.

Are scholarships guaranteed?

No. CSC, provincial and university scholarships are competitive and none guarantee admission. Prepare a workable self-funded plan and apply well before the deadline.
