Nothing on this page replaces the official guide. Where the notice is ambiguous — programme quotas, scholarship coverage, exact document format — we say so instead of guessing, and we re-verify after the university publishes the final version.

Why it matters for the 2027 intake

Most Chinese universities publish international admission guides between October and March for the September intake. Updates like this one usually change three things: which programmes are open, how late documents may arrive, and whether a scholarship round is attached.

Applicants who read the change early can sequence their work — language test, notarised documents, financial proof — instead of discovering a gap in the final weeks, when translation and authentication queues are longest.

Documents and eligibility checklist

Prepare these items before the portal opens so that a late announcement does not cost you the round. Chinese universities generally require certified translations, and translation plus notarisation can take longer than the application itself.

• Passport valid for at least the full study period
• Highest diploma and transcripts (notarised translation where required)
• Language certificate: HSK for Chinese-taught tracks, IELTS/TOEFL for English-taught tracks
• Study plan or personal statement (usually expected for master and doctoral applicants)
• Two academic reference letters for postgraduate routes
• Physical examination form (Foreigner Physical Examination Form) and financial proof

Costs, scholarships and budget planning

Our record for Tsinghua University shows Program-specific. Treat that as a planning baseline: it excludes dormitory, medical insurance, residence permit fees and daily living costs, which vary strongly by city.

Scholarships come from three families: the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), provincial or municipal scholarships, and university-level awards. They have separate deadlines and separate portals, so we verify each one before including it in a plan.

How ChinaPath verifies this briefing

Every briefing keeps its official source visible. This one is based on Official · yz.tsinghua.edu.cn and the linked official page, and was verified on October 21, 2026.

We do not present estimates as facts. When a number is not yet published we mark it as pending, and we re-check the page whenever the university updates its international admission notice.

What to do next

If you are applying for the 2027 intake, treat this update as a signal to start document work rather than to submit immediately. Confirm the programme, the language route and your budget band first; submission order matters far less than having a complete file ready.

• Shortlist three universities: one target, one match, one safety
• Check the language requirement against your current score
• Start notarised translations now — they are the slowest step
• Build a full budget including city living costs before choosing
